PRIVACY

Your information should have a clear purpose.

Pants Mean What? collects only the information needed to review submissions, respond to messages, moderate community access, and develop approved public conversations or projects.

The website itself does not use advertising, analytics, or behavioral tracking.

Information you may provide

The Common Ground and Discord application forms may ask for information such as:

  • Your name, nickname, or preferred display name
  • Your email address
  • Your Discord username, when applicable
  • Questions, ideas, messages, project information, or other answers you choose to submit
  • Your choices about whether edited portions of a submission may be published

How the information is used

Submitted information may be used to:

  • Review and respond to your message
  • Decide where a conversation or project may continue
  • Review an application to the Discord community
  • Moderate spam, trolling, personal attacks, or deliberate disruption
  • Develop an approved submission into a public discussion, article, project, TikTok, or longer YouTube video
  • Contact you when clarification or permission is needed

A submission does not guarantee publication or community access.

Where submissions are stored

Form responses are collected through Google Forms and stored in private Google Forms response records and linked Google Sheets.

Responses are not stored in the public website files or the public Git repository.

Access is limited to the people responsible for reviewing and managing Pants Mean What? submissions.

Do not expose private Form, Sheet, Drive, or administrator URLs.

Public use of submissions

Personal contact information will not be intentionally published.

Submitted material may be published only when the submission gives permission for that type of use and after it has been reviewed.

Approved material may be lightly edited for spelling, organization, clarity, length, or privacy without intentionally changing its meaning.

When additional permission or clarification is needed, Pants Mean What? may contact the submitter before public use.

Email and marketing

Email addresses are used to review and respond to submissions or community requests.

They are not added to a marketing mailing list and are not sold as contact information.

Appearance preferences

The website stores appearance choices, such as theme, readable text, and color-safe contrast, in your browser's local storage.

These preferences stay on your device and are not sent to Pants Mean What? as personal profile or analytics data.

Clearing browser storage may reset those choices.

Third-party services

Embedded Google Forms are provided and controlled by Google. Google may show the account currently signed into the visitor's browser and may process the Form according to the visitor's Google session and Google's own policies.

Discord is a separate service. People who choose to join the community are also subject to Discord's own account and privacy practices.

Do not attempt to restyle, hide, or manipulate Google's signed-in-account indicator.

Correction or deletion requests

To ask about submitted information, correct a submission, withdraw publication permission before publication, or request deletion of information under the control of Pants Mean What?, email:

contact@pantsmeanwhat.com

Requests must include enough information to identify the relevant submission. Some information may need to be retained when reasonably necessary to handle an ongoing conversation, moderation issue, or record of previously granted publication permission.

Policy updates

This page may be updated when the website, Forms, community process, or data practices change.
